This class will focus on the safe operation of a counterweight fly system. Students will hang, balance and fly scenery under the direction of the instructors, Journeymen Al Hiskey and Don Ferguson . Emphasis will be on the safe communication between the flyman and the rest of the crew. There will be a discussion of system and component capacities and maintenance. Also, the safe use of rope and common knots used in the theatre will be covered.

The second session will be taught on Tuesday, December 10, at 10:00 am at McCaw Hall. The class will last between 3 and 4 hours. This class is open to all though because it is part of the Local 15 Apprenticeship program curriculum, persons who have declared their participation in the Apprenticeship program will have priority.
