August 19, 2019 - August 22, 2019
10:00 am - 4:00 pm
There are many patterns that can’t be easily draped on the form, and yet you don’t need to trust some mysterious formula to draft them. In this four- day class, students will spend the first day draping a basic bodice on the form, then the next three days making sleeves and collars for it. The class will also look at pattern manipulation. Students can expect to leave with a collection of useful patterns and mockups, and the confidence to make more. This class will be a good fit with Val’s other class “Drafting to Drape, Draping to Fit” , but can be taken alone.
This is an advanced class intended for drapers, first hands, and experienced stitchers who are ready to move ahead. Bring your own cutting shears, sewing snips, and paper scissors; a clear ruler, and a curved ruler, if you have one.
This 4 day class will be held from Monday, August 19 to Thursday August 22 from 10 am to 4 pm at the Seattle Opera Costume Shop. Enrollment is limited to 10 students so Register Now!
