Welcome to the Western Washington Theatrical Training Trust, your home for continuing education in the entertainment industry. We provide courses that span the spectrum of theater and live event production disciplines, including audio, video, lighting, rigging, wardrobe, and beyond.
You do not need to be a Union member to take WWTTT courses!
Our instructors work in the industry. To accommodate their busy work schedules, classes are rarely scheduled more than 6 weeks out, sometimes less.

Draping a Dress from the Image of Your Choice
THIS CLASS IS SOLD OUT!
In this 5 hour class with instructor Connie Rinchiuso, participants will explore draping in muslin and creating a paper pattern from the image of a dress - contemporary or period - that they have pre-selected. The printed image of the garment should be printed at least 5”x8”. The class is intended for advanced stitchers, first hands and cutters who would like to continue experimenting and developing their skills and confidence. Connie has been a Cutter/Draper/Pattern maker in Seattle and in regional theaters nationally for over 40 years. The class will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023 at the Seattle Children's Theatre costume shop from 10 am to 3pm.Job Steward Training
What can job stewards do (or NOT do) to represent members at the work site? What are the differences between "job stewards", "shop stewards" and "payroll stewards"? This is a thorough and practical course in the role and responsibilities of job stewards tailored to the unusual conditions of the entertainment industry. Taught by Mylor Treneer (former Business Rep for Local 15), students will learn how to advise members effectively in various types of situations. Students will become familiar with the basic concepts of just cause, progressive discipline, duty of fair representation and Weingarten rights. This class is a required class in the Local 15 Apprenticeship program. The class will be conducted via Zoom on Monday October 23, 2023 from 10 am to 1 pm. Zoom invitations will be sent to the email address on the registration.
How to Put on a Wig 101
In this 4-hour beginning class, with many hands-on practice opportunities, you will learn the specific parts of a wig, the basic techniques of hair preparation, and the various methods of securing a wig for theater productions. This class is intended for those who are new to wigs or those who are looking to brush up on their wig skills. Come prepared to have your own head prepped and wigged as we will practice on each other. This class will be held at McCaw Hall on Saturday, November 4, 2023 from 1-5 pm. The course instructors are Ashlee Naegle (Wig & Makeup manager and designer at Seattle Opera),Shelby Rogers (Head of Wigs & Makeup at Pacific Northwest Ballet and Wig Assistant at Seattle REP), and Jenn Hill (Assistant to the wig designer and Principal HMU artist at Seattle Opera).
