An Introduction to Flat Patterning taught by Jim Westerland and Patti Emmert.

A beginner level class where you will learn the basics of flat patterning, starting with taking accurate measurements then drafting a basic body block, and a basic pants pattern, based on your own measurements. No previous patterning experience is required, but a basic knowledge of sewing would be helpful.

This class will be held at the Seattle Opera costume shop on Saturday, January 10, and Sunday January 11, from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Please bring 3-4 pencils, erasers, and if you have any of the following: paper scissors, a measuring tape, a tracing wheel, a yard stick, a clear plastic “quilting” ruler, an “L” square, and a fashion curve.
