Beginning Building

Master builder Patrick Sherman will conduct a two day class on the basics of theatrical carpentry. Students will learn how a shop is organized, how shop work flow is organized and will be introduced to the the most common materials and tools used as well as the basic techniques for building flats and platforms.

Reading Blueprints and Shop Math & Layout are prerequisites for this course. If you have only completed one of the prerequisites and want to take this class, contact the Training Coordinator:  [email protected]

The class is limited in size to 12 students. Proper work attire and closed toe shoes are required.

This class will be held on Sunday November 9 and  Saturday November 15  from 8am to 4pm at the Village Theatre scene shop in Issaquah. There will be a midday walk-away lunch each day.
