Beginning Welding

This course will provide an introduction to MIG welding, metal work and metal craft safety procedures. Students will learn how to work with metal safely, including proper use of necessary PPE.  Students will be able to join steel pieces using MIG welding techniques. This class will be taught at the Village Theatre Scene Shop in Issaquah on Sunday, July 26 from 8am to 5pm with a one hour walk away lunch.

Class Requirements

  • Students are expected to bring their own tape measure and basic classroom materials.
  • OSHA approved eye protection with side shields is required to participate in this class. Some eye protection will be available, but students are encouraged to bring their own. Proper welding PPE will be provided but students may bring their own.
  • Students are expected to wear appropriate clothing for building and welding. Long pants and closed toed shoes are required. A bandana or welding cap is recommended.

  • Shop Math and Layout
  • Blueprint Reading
