If you are a working professional in the live entertainment industry, the Western Washington Theatrical Training Trust (WWTTT) could use your expertise. The WWTTT is looking to hire instructors for the following courses.
- Building Electrics in the Theatre
- Lighting Fixtures, Hang & Focus
- Dimmers, Power & Patching
- Follow Spot Operation
- Flyrail Operation & Weight Loading
- Basic & Advanced ETC Light Board Operation
- Deckhand -Running a Show
These are generally 4 hour to 8 hour one-day classes. Instructors are paid for prep time, instructional time and clean-up time.
The 2025 base hourly rate for Instructors is $41.20 with an 11% contribution to Health & Welfare.
Courses are scheduled when instructors have available time in their personal work schedules. Teaching for the WWTTT is important work but it is still “gig” work.
New instructors will be paired with current instructors to learn the curriculum.

Successful candidates will have:
- Worked in several Puget Sound live entertainment venues.
- A Local #15 Dispatch skill rating of “1” or “2” in the craft area they are to instruct.
- Experience as a Department Head, Assistant Department Head or Crew Lead directing and supervising event work.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Ability to deliver presentations and demonstrations to students.
- Ability to facilitate discussions and encourage student participation.
- Ability to provide clear and concise explanations of concepts and practical applications.
- A commitment to creating a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel valued and respected.
- Basic familiarity with Microsoft 365 applications.
